Vizio Thin + Light 14-inch and 15.6-inch Ultrabooks

It was only a matter of time until Vizio would decide to officially enter the ultrabook market, and only a few days after the company has announced the release of their first notebook, here are two ultrabooks coming in 14 and 15.6-inches screen sizes.

Vizio has named its two new ultrabooks Thin+ Light and as the name suggests, they are indeed both very light and very thin, two compulsory features when it comes to ultrabooks. The two machines come in a unibody construction and a razor-thin profile measuring only 0.68-inches and weighing 1.8 Kg.

It seems these are not so “light” at 1.8Kg but I guess you could overlook that when you take a look at the technical specs.

The Vizio Thin+ Light Ultrabooks are powered by the latest Ivy Bridge i7-3517U processor, come with 4GB of RAM and integrated Intel HD4000 graphics. They also pack 128GB and 256GB SSDs for storage and OS. We can expect the 140inch model to come with a 1600x900 resolution, while the 15.6-inch to come in a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution. The two also come with enhanced sound, due to the SRS Premium Sound HD and a 1.3megapixel 720p HD camera. As and added bonus you’ll be able to encounter the new USB 3.0 technology, enabling blazing fast speeds, WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth.

We can expect almost 7 hours of battery life with these two models and for now we know that the 14-inch Vizio Thin+ Light ultrabook price starts at $898.
